Draft document
Terms of Service
Last updated: September 10, 2026
1. Overview
CoClient is a software tool that helps users organize, review, and understand attorney-client communications and case materials in a private web workspace or locally on their Mac. These Terms of Service govern your use of the CoClient website and Mac application.
2. Not Legal Advice
CoClient is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Nothing in the app or website constitutes legal advice, attorney-client privilege, or an attorney-client relationship. You should consult a qualified attorney for advice on your specific situation.
3. Use of the Service
You agree to use CoClient only for lawful purposes. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
When you authorize an external request, you direct CoClient to transmit the displayed information to the identified provider. You are responsible for confirming that you have authority to make that disclosure. Transmission may affect confidentiality or privilege, but CoClient does not determine whether privilege exists or whether disclosure constitutes a legal waiver.
If you connect your own third-party API account, you are responsible for safeguarding its credentials, complying with the provider's terms, and paying charges assessed by that provider. The web workspace separately displays its hosted-analysis allowance and requires approval before each hosted request.
Recovery keys and source review
You must save your separate recovery key and keep encrypted backups if you want to retain private web records. CoClient cannot reset that key or decrypt retained private content if it is lost. Local scans surface excerpts and may miss important information. Verify original sources and consult your attorney about legal dates and decisions.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
The displayed Full Matter offer is a one-time payment for a fixed access period and does not renew automatically. Payments are processed by Stripe. Your free saved Case Check and source viewing remain available after access expires. Contact support about payment problems or refunds. The final refund terms and applicable consumer disclosures require review before public launch.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CoClient and its operators are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to decisions made or actions taken based on information provided by the app.
6. Draft Status
These terms are a draft and have not been reviewed by legal counsel. They will be finalized before CoClient is released to the general public.
